Al Payne
PHOTOGRAPHER, OWNER, FOUNDER: In 1969, Al Payne graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business from Arizona State University. Shortly after that, in 1971, he received another Bachelors degree in Education, also from Arizona State University. That same year, Al decided that photography was his real interest and started A. F. Payne Photographic. He began by photographing people. He then coupled his love of architecture with his photography. Having secured several local clients, he realized he had a gift: to employ lighting on a scale that most other photographers were not willing to do. As his business grew, so did his clientele. After three decades of perfecting his trade, his work still says: “Beautiful pictures of beautiful places and people.”

Whitney Hanson
STUDIO MANAGER: After graduating from Arizona State University in 1997, with a degree in English, Whitney came to work for A. F. Payne Photographic.  In her spare time she photographs her pets with a cheap, plastic Polaroid camera.  Because of her sparkling personality and way with words, she has become a valuable asset to the company.
